Inspiration Cafe and The Living Room Cafe
The Inspiration Cafe and Living Room Cafe therapeutic communities, located in Uptown and Woodlawn, respectively, are the core of our Supportive services program.  Our guests and alumni (participants and graduates) attend meals prepared and served by volunteers in a restaurant-style setting.  Cafe guests are required to attend all meals, which provide daily structure in their lives.  Through regular case management meetings, guests receive individualized counseling and support in identifying, monitoring, and achieving personal goals, which include obtaining stable housing, addressing addiction, accessing mental health and medical care, and securing a sustainable income through employment or public benefits.  The Cafes also link guests and alumni to other services provided by Inspiration Corporation and other organizations in the community, including health care, housing, educational opportunities, job training programs, and employment.

All applicants to our cafe programs must be referred by a social service provider who has substantial experience working with their client in order to verify the qualifying criteria. To qualify, applicants must be drug- and alcohol-free for at least 30 days, have no recent history of violence, and be willing to work toward obtaining their own housing and source of income.

Inspiration Corporation would like to thank Andres Schcolnik and ANSCO Construction for his generosity in developing our new, improved facility for The Living Room Cafe, located at 806 E. 63^rd St. in the historic Grand Ballroom building.  This facility opened in October 2005.

Healthy Living
The Healthy Living program provides and hosts an array of wellness services, including men’s and women’s groups; Alcoholics Anonymous, Cocaine Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings; massage therapy; yoga classes; health and life-skills workshops; and access to free dental and eye care.

Art for All
This program provides opportunities for guests and alumni to reconnect with the larger community through group outings to various artistic, cultural and recreational venues.  Besides simply making human lives richer, these events help to rebuild the socialization skills of men and women who have spent years living on society’s margins.

Engagement Center
Inspiration Corporation’s Engagement Center is a place where homeless or at-risk individuals are welcomed on Saturdays and Sundays. The center offers a warm and friendly environment, coffee, bag lunches, group activities, laundry facilities, clean showers, and inspirational speakers. A case manager is available on Saturdays to talk with individuals in need, make referrals, and provide supportive services.  The Engagement Center serves as a point of entry and a bridge to Inspiration Corporation’s full array of services.
